General Auditor III (Dept. of Aging) - FFD 8/24

Under the direction of the Audits Branch Manager, the General Auditor III acts as a senior level auditor who, with limited supervision, performs the more complex elements of the financial compliance audits related to the various California Department of Aging programs.  This requires a high level of independence and a thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.  The General Auditor III shall have knowledge of, but not limited to, Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the ability to apply such principles.  The General Auditor III is expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Chief Financial Officer (Covered CA) - FFD 8/11

Covered California is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the overall financial strategy of Covered California and ultimately ensures the financial integrity of the organization. The CFO is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of Covered California, including direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting and related government compliance. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the CFO advises executive leadership on all financial matters for the organization. 
 
Desirable Qualifications 

  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in business strategy, business operations, and financial management; CPA, MBA or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; or equivalent education and experience. 
  2. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in managing general accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, management information systems, cost accounting, financial planning, and third-party contract negotiations. 
  3. Experience with California state budget processes and fiduciary responsibility for public funds.
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and work in a team-based, collaborative environment that promotes diversity.
  5. Executive and managerial experience in a medium to large department, overseeing both accounting and financial forecasting functions for the organization.
  6. Demonstrated experience in process improvement evaluation and the implementation of new and innovative solutions to achieve the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals. 
  7. Ability to partner with key stakeholders and work with all levels of staff, management, and board members to translate complex financial accounting issues to non-financial customers. 
  8. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in public speaking, presenting, collaborating, and influencing internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to executive management, the Board of Directors, all department personnel, state control agencies, and leadership from other state departments.

Program Auditor (EDD) - FFD Until Filled

The EDD is seeking Associate Management Auditors* to join the Audit and Evaluation Division. We are looking for talented and motivated individuals who have excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, in addition to strong interpersonal skills. Experience as an auditor being a project lead in providing guidance to an audit team, and the ability to use computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and/or TeamMate are also desired. Because most of our work is performed either individually or in teams, applicants should like working with others and helping foster teamwork both as a member and as a leader. Finally, success in our office comes to those individuals who show initiative and are self-starters with a strong desire to be challenged to attain professional growth.

Deputy Auditor Controller (County of Solano) - FFD Until Filled

Solano County is looking for two individuals to lead a team of professional accountants and auditors. The Deputy Auditor Controller under general direction from the Assistant Auditor Controller, will plan, organize, and direct the operations of a division/divisions in the Auditor-Controller’s Office in accounting and auditing. The Deputy Auditor Controller provides policy direction in accounting and auditing to departments, evaluates and ensures the reliability of financial reporting; analyzes and provides complex financial data; interprets laws, mandates, regulations and provides technical assistance and advice to the Board of County Supervisors, CAO, Federal, State, local agencies and the public. The Auditor Controller has two Deputy Auditor Controller openings in the following divisions: Internal Audit and Accounting.
