Presents . . .Developing the Elements of an Audit Finding

Executive Director:
Dorothy Affleck

Audit findings contain the elements of criteria, condition, cause, effect, and where appropriate, recommendations. The quality of performance audits is directly related to the quality of audit work done developing evidence supporting these elements. This seminar will discuss developing and presenting each of the audit elements in great detail and in relation to accomplishing the stated audit objectives. Through lecture and case studies we will discuss the importance of identifying audit objectives, getting to the root cause of significant findings, developing real and potential adverse effects to persuade managers to take corrective action, and developing recommendations which are feasible and directed to the root cause.
