Pre-requisites: This course is relevant to all levels of auditing/investigation that require face-to-face interaction and information gathering from witnesses, interested parties and subjects of inquiries. Prior course work in ethics and internal fraud investigations is desired.

Course Description:
This course is an intermediate course in internal fraud and ethics investigations. The course provides detailed investigative steps when encountering allegations or concerns about employee wrong doing including the latest investigative methods for using social networking as an investigative tool and an expanded section from the introductory course concerning employee interviews techniques including behavioral analysis and truthful and deception detection exercises. This course also focuses upon the interrogation phase of the interview including countermeasures that can be used when subjects are hesitant to respond in a truthful manner.

* Increase in your ability to conduct an effective behavioral analysis interview including an increased ability to identify truthful responses.
* New sources of investigative resources including the most effective ways to utilize social media to enhance your investigation.
Instructor: Manuel Pereira
Manuel Pereira is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Reid Institute Interviewing and Interrogation expert. He has served for 8 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigating high-level white-collar crime matters with an emphasis in employee theft and public corruption cases. Manuel speaks regularly to business and government investigators, auditors and employee relations professional on fraud prevention and issues relating to employee ethics violations and is a contributing author in the Fraud Casebook – Lessons from the Bad Side of Business published by Wiley and Sons.
