Course Description:
Fundamental Writing and Editing for Auditors focuses on the skills needed to write and revise audit reports for the appropriate tone, readability, and clarity. You will learn how to write an effective audit report that is not bogged down in the editing process. Essentially, you will acquire the skills necessary to turn your working papers into a concise and complete audit report that clearly conveys your intended meaning the first time around. Additionally, you will learn the power of transitional words and phrases in helping writers of all levels achieve fluency. Time is spent practicing the editing tools in class, which enables you to leave with confidence in your editing ability and ready to test these techniques on all your workplace documents, not just audit reports.

INSTRUCTOR: Vicki Quarte
Vicki Quirarte has over 25 years experience as a teacher, writer, and speaker. Vicki’s own company is called Sierra Writing Seminars, and she partners with other training organizations to teach writing in the workplace. Vicki has a long list of California State Agency and other public and private sector clients who she not only satisfies but delights with her ability to entertainingly deliver writing courses that ensure results. She teaches an array of customized classes and has been teaching audit-writing classes for many years. Additionally, Vicki is a professor of English at American River College and William Jessup University, where she teaches writing and serves as director of the Jessup writing center on campus. Vicki is passionate about writing and teaching others how to write with excellence.
